A little winter cleaning

I have deleted all of the old, nonrelevant posts clogging up the blog. The only remaining posts are the most recent ones about the dessert tour and our future Itenerary. I will also send invitations to all who I have emails for.

I will wait for confirmation on who is and who is not still in the Youth group before deleting any profiles from the Blog. At this point, I believe Adam, Issac, Tara, Me, Elysse, Mom, Zach, David, Sammie, and Katie are still going, If I am forgetting anyone please tell me. If anyone wishes to have their name removed, please email me at b.rusk48@gmail.com, call me, or just tell me in youth. If you are not on the above list, but wish to stay or have an email sent to you, please contact me.

If anyone has any suggestions for the blog, please contact me, as these are always appreciated.

In the side panel, Slushie has become The Assassin. If she wishes her post name changed, she has to go to her profile, edit her settings, and change her name. There is a link if she clicks on the Assassin in the main blog screen side panel, under "Our Contributors"

Have a great day, or not, the choce is yours,

Some upcoming events for youth

Wednesday nights, November 19-December 17: Great desserts of Palm Bay. Sample, rate, and review the finest fast-food delights in Palm Bay, The City that Never Sleeps But Occasionally Does Doze Only When It Does It Snores and Does That Crazy Little Jump Thing Causing It To Fall Off the Recliner And Pretend It Wasn't Dozing. There will be special prizes for completing The Two Tasks of DOOOOooooOOOOOooooM at each restaurant.

Sunday, November 23: MANDATORY meeting for parents/guardians/grandparents/assorted authority figures. This meeting is to notify parents about the upcoming mission trip. Each youth MUST have at least one parental-authority type at the meeting.

Dreaded Day of Fun in early December (I am checking the date so we don't miss the Christmas dinner distribution.) We will be going to the beach or to Sebastian Inlet for the morning, then doing a special, secret event in the afternoon and evening. One hint: the special event involves cheetos, whipped cream, red thread, and long sticks. Oh, and bring a notarized statement from your parents as to where they want the remains mailed. I mean, the remains of the fabulous fun pictures we will no doubt take of all the fun you're having, hahahaha! Plus, a special guest will arrive, take one look at you and the red thread, and run as fast as possible in the other direction.

December 14: Youth Group Fundraising event! You want it, you need it, you asked for it...The First-Ever Fellowship Christmas Bakeoff! Here's how it works. The bakers are competing for the honor of Best Baker (aside from Ms. Karen, of course, she is by far THE best Baker in church!) of Fellowship and a gift certificate to a local restaurant. They pay a small fee to enter. The church folk pay a fee to enter and sample cookies--and then they buy chips to use in "voting" for the best dessert. The winner is the one who has the most votes. Although it is a hardship, I know that my youth group will somehow manage to eat any unwanted Christmas desserts that may be left behind in the kitchen.

December 20: Christmas party! Bring a wrapped gift but you may not spend more than $7.77 on it. We will have music, Time Warp, dance contest, Best Dressed Award, games, and of course there will be food.

December 31: Closing date for the Mission trip. This is the last date that new youth group members can be added to the roster. New members must complete ALL requirements of the trip: their parents must meet with Ms. Nancy, they must participate in fundraisers and service projects, must pay their portion, and must complete the GOD FIRST Bible study.

OK, so that should keep us busy till the end of the year...

Dessert tour starts tomorrow!

So you've always wanted to sample the finest desserts in all the highest-class fast food restaurants of Palm Bay? You say you've dreamed of nibbling on McDonaldland cookies while gazing pensively over the squalling mass of small children clogging the PlayPlace? So you've always wanted to sip vanilla milkshakes as you feel your back melding to the hard plastic chairs of your favorite fast food emporium? Well, everything you've waited for is coming to Fellowship Youth! Here is the schedule for the upcoming Dessert Tour N Bible Study With Some FREE! Scary Bad Driving:

November 19: McDonald's--featuring apple pies, ice cream sundaes, milkshakes.

November 26: Brief break from fast food dessert sampling. We will have to settle for turkey, stuffing, pies, cakes, cookies, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, that weird green bean and onion string casserole your Aunt Helga always brings that even the dog won't eat, etc. etc. You will survive but it might not be pretty.

December 3: Burger King. Featuring Hershey's chocolate pie, cheesecake.

December 10: Wendy's. The immortal Frosty!

December 17: Dunkin' Donuts for Breakfast dessert (aka donuts.)

There will be special prizes offered for those who dare to do The Two Tasks of DOOOOOOooOOOM at each restaurant. What are The Two Tasks of DOOOOOOoooOOOOOM you quite reasonably ask? Come tomorrow to find out! We leave at 6:32 promptly. See you there,
Oh, and here is a link so that you can preview the fine dining we will sample:
